Equality? Bollocks.

Usually I don't like being dragged into debates about racism and political correctness (minus the BNP slagging off), but news that the MET was branded racist because the "ethnic minority" quota wasn't achieved just boggles my mind.

Police should be recruited based on skill, not race. That's not just the police either. All company's should do this, and most do. The same goes for sexism. Why should a man get paid more than a woman for the exact same job? He shouldn't.

Labour Deputy Leader, Harriet Harman, has spoke out saying that one of the top two posts within the Labour Government should always be held by a woman. No, no it shouldn't. That's not equality. Equality is treating everyone the same. This is clearly favouring women more. I do not care if both posts were held by women. I don't care if both were held by men. I do care if these posts are filled by hitting targets, not by laurels.

This is the same woman who has written the Equality Bill. So let's see what the main points in this bill are. Oh, women will find it easier to demand equal pay and employers will be given a legal right to discriminate in favour of female candidates.

Now how is that equality? Yes, women may be further behind in jobs and pay but surely the way to fix this is not to make it legal to discriminate men. Equality should be created by taking away the discriminations, not to make men just as discriminated as women.

Equality? Utter bollocks.

Twitter...

Nobody gives a shit how pissed you were last night, how many words of your essay you have written or how hungry/tired/bored you are.

Therefore, why has a new "social" site come out to let users say short messages about the very same things no-one cares about. Twitter. No-one cared when it was your Facebook status. Why would they now care if it was on an new website?

Following updates about celebrities.
Wow, interesting. Not.

How can people seriously be so immersed in the "Celebrity culture" that they want to follow their every move?

They can't be serious, surely?

Fuck off BNP

A couple of weeks ago in Chester the BNP were handing out leaflets. I'm usually more than happy to take one but as soon as I saw it was for a racist group I refused. I walked 10 more metres up the road and guess what, a van with speakers on top blurting out more racist propaganda. It had a feeling of certain WWII films and people were actually being taken in by this crap.

I'm all for free speech, in fact it's the cornerstone of our current society (apparently) but a party that are that openly racist shouldn't be allowed to broadcast propaganda in this day and age.

Now, the CoE have said that the British public shouldn't punish the other parties by voting for the BNP. True, a racist party is not where to turn when the rest of them decide they want to scam off the public.

However, the retort from the BNP to me seems ridiculous. They claim that politics and religion should stay seperate, something the Nazi's tried with the Catholics. The exact quote was "The archbishops were trying to make themselves relevant in the modern world and the Church should stay out of politics". Earlier on a European election campaign poster however, the BNP has used an image of Jesus suggesting that he would vote for the party. If they want to be taken seriously then they should lose the racist ideals, quit being so hypocritical and listen to the REAL thoughts of the public, not the few that know nothing about how a country can and should be run.

The scary thing is people actually vote for this party. An independant Britain is not a successful Britain. In fact without being in Europe and allowing immigration to this extent the economy would not be anywhere near where it is now and that is a fact.

Someone once said the sign of a strong economy is a flexible workforce, this had been clearly shown by the influx of foreign workers when Britain was in a boom. Now it's in a recession and these more manual forms of work are needing less and less workers most foreign workers have gone back home. What would Britain do without them? Probably be reduced to something far off
from something we once knew as the driving force of the world.

Birthdays and holidays

Birthdays... congratulations on being alive for one more year. Well done, you've not been hit by a car or died from alcohol poisoning. What the hell is the point. Hardly a celebration in my book.

Why don't people stop using it as an excuse to get drunk and just be drunk normally. No point in waiting an entire year to be trashed when you can just do it when you feel like it. Not like a birthday is even special.

Christmas, just as bad. When you're young, yes, Christmas seems amazing. Presents, family, big meal. Great fun. When you get old enough to know Santa isn't real and presents really don't make you feel "excited" anymore then it loses it's appeal. Even those Christian enough to celebrate the birth of Jesus must get bored of the over commercialisation of Christmas? A holiday that's meant to represent giving (apparently) doesn't mean giving the biggest most expensive gift to your spoilt brat of a child.

"I'm right, that's the end of it"

I was going to write a post about anorexia. How I think it gets given a lot of credit for being a disease when, in my opinion it's just for weak minded people. So, before having a rant about it and publishing I checked up on it. I found out from a nurse that had worked with anorexics that is mainly a psychological thing about the Mother not nurturing the daughter properly. How could I say that's wrong? I couldn't and therefore I didn't. I'm happy to be educated in things I don't fully understand and so if anyone proves me wrong that's fine.

However, if you're wrong then you're wrong. You cannot stay with the same opinion when it is CLEAR that you're wrong. You can't argue that most of what you said it right, or even any of it. Admitting that you're wrong takes a far bigger and better person than it does to continue arguing over something that you've already lost. In fact, people are more likely to respect your opinion in the future if you're actually able to admit you were wrong this time, instead of thinking you're right every time.

The dance walk

So you're on your walk home minding your own business and someone's walking towards you. The pavements not big but you could quite easily walk past each other.

When you're walking and someone's walking towards you
And you do that little dance like you're having a fit.
How fucking annoying is that.

Why can't people follow a simple rule? We do it on the roads. Why can we not do it on the pavement? Why do people get confused that because they're not using a steering wheel to turn that means they can't move out of the way. It's not like pilots see another plane and do a silly dance in there so why should people do it on the pavement? Just learn to keep to the right, as a paper stated to be a rule for "surviving London", and follow some kind of conformity of the "pavement rules."

Either don't reply or actually SAY something

Right, picture this. You're seeing a girl and things are going pretty well. You're not much of a texter but you'll do it for her. You haven't spoken for three days so she texts you to see how you are and you start trying to have a conversation.

So, a conversation is a two way thing. It includes both people being interested in it, with questions and answers most of the time. If someone asks you a question it's polite to give an answer and maybe reply with a question of your own. Y'know, just so you can show that you're actually interested in the conversation, and not just replying 'yes' or 'no'.

Here's a "conversation" a friend of mine had with a girl.

Jamie: Ahhh tht sucks, u lookin after them again then? i bet uv been a good girl :) wat u up 2 now then? x
The girls reply: i left them x

Now I'm not surprised at his reply because I'm sure I would have gone just as mental he did, if not more.

Jamie: What the fuck is tht? how am i spos to reply to tht shit? just answer the simple questions, stupid women'

Now fine if they don't wanna talk. That's absolutely fine. If you get a message such as the one she's sent to him you're gonna take it as a hint that she doesn't want to talk to you / doesn't like you or whatever.
However, if she texts you the next day asking why you didn't reply, now that's just gotta make you mad. You can't just sit down and take that. Something needs to be done and there's no way I could ever stay with a girl like that for longer than a week without wanting to kill her.

"I'm amazing, bow at my feet"

Why do some girls feel like they're God's gift. They walk around like everyone fancies them and if someone doesn't there's something wrong with them.

Too many guys fall for it. These girls act like they're God's gift and in turn they become God's gift in the eyes of some of these guys. They think "Oh, well she's fit and acting like she's amazing so she must be".

No. She's not worth it. No-one is. No matter how ugly you are and how good looking she is, she's no better than you. She is in fact under you. If everyone stopped treating her like she's amazing then she'll start to understand. It might take a while but it'll happen. Then she can stop being hated by 90% of guys, and those who are stupid enough to fall for it might see how much of a bitch she was before and learn from it.

No need to arse lick anyone, no matter how good looking they are. It never gets you ahead, not in reality. It's more likely to land you in more trouble than just being yourself.

The fake emo culture

Right, the emo culture is based on mainly one thing. Being emotional.

Emotional. Not wanting to kill yourself. An emotion is a mental and physiological state associated with a wide variety of feelings, thoughts, and behaviours. A WIDE VARIETY. Messages on social networking sites saying how you want to kill yourself isn't a cry for help, it's a weak mind being indoctrinated by a false culture. If someone really wanted to kill themselves they would not tell everyone they know about it. Suicides are mainly done in places where it would be hard to find them so why post "I'm going to kill myself" over Facebook.

The fact that most bands that become associated with being "emo" tend to attempt to remove that label. It is not wanted by bands, and in my opinion rightly so. Who would want to be associated with thousands of little kids moaning about how they're going to kill themselves to get some attention? Certainly not me.

Stupid people

In my everyday life I find a great correlation between stupid people and those who like to type LiKe ThIS. Seriously, why would that look good? The English language is meant to be developed but not into absolute crap. It doesn't make any sense to capitalise every other letter. For a start it's fucking annoying to read. Stop it.

There there's those who don't know how to use punctuation. How hard is it really to put an apostrophe in the correct place. It's don't, not do'nt. If you want to plural a word ending in s add an apostrophe on the end. Surely in this day and age these basic rules can be understood by the majority of people. I mean, look how far we've come as humans, we've created the wheel, electricity, the computer and created an entire language based only on noughts and ones and still people can't speak their own language? How can this be right?

I would be fine with it if these people actually tried and they just couldn't learn it, but those with learning difficulties manage to learn these things because they actually TRY then why can't the idiots.

Back seat boomers

Y'know the chavs that sit at the back of the bus? The ones that sit there and think that everyone likes their kind of music? Why? Why do they think this? Not everyone wants to listen to the same chimpmunk song over AND OVER.

I'm not sure whether the song is changing or not, 'cause every now and then they shout "Woooh!" and danced around like they're having a fit. No. Don't do that. Go back home, your Mum wants you in before 12.

Stop following any kind of "fashion" that you see on TV by BLACK people. Yes, they're a different race, they're able to get away with it. You're white and in a middle class family; not in the ghetto. Stop acting like you're so poor you have to sell drugs and kill people to be able to live. Stop that, or stop living.

Nudge nudge

People who nudge on MSN. I mean c'mon. What's that about? What the hell is the point in it.

Right so it does two things:

Firstly, it makes the screenshake. Okay, fine. I don't see how that would be helpful but fine. If you're not sitting at the screen, you've not noticed that someone's talked to you for whatever reason then it MIGHT help you see it. That's about the only reason.

However, the sound. Why? Why? Why would it make a noise. Okay, so here's an example. You're sitting next to your computer, therefore can clearly see the orange flash at the bottom. Why would a sound help at all? If you've not realised your speakers are turned up high that's going to scare the shit out of you. If you're not sitting at your PC, then you're most likely on busy. The sound doesn't even work. You're not going to hear it. Why would this be even SLIGHTLY useful? It's the most pointless addition to an already overcrowded MSN with winks, backgrounds and voice clips. Get rid of nudge... now.
